Cuda Ridge Wines, created by Larry & Margie Dino, produces Bordeaux-style wines that bring out the wonderful terroir of the Valley of Livermore. In Livermore, California, the Cuda Ridge winery and Tasting Room is located at 2400 Arroyo Lane. The current output of Cuda Ridge is 2100 cases, which we expect to continue to increase by a few hundred cases per year in the near future. The following Bordeaux varietals are created by Cuda Ridge Wines: Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. From time to time, winemaker Larry Dino will create non-Bordeaux-style wines designated under the Black label, including Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon in the New World style and our S&M blend. Small lots varying from 100 to 450 cases are each of the varietals made. Cuda Ridge blends the varietals extensively and aims for lower alcohol wines, typical of the Bordeaux style, with extreme complexity and character. Cuda Ridge is truly a winery owned by family and friends. Don't be shocked to see members of the Dino family and their friends helping with wine making, or pouring a glass of wine, when you visit our winery. They are sure that you will become a member of their new family once you have tried our distinctive blends and enjoyed our hospitality!

The preference of our winemaker is to create wines that have complex flavor layers, such as mineral, spice, earth, floral, and fruit. You can find that the Cuda Ridge wines have balanced tannins, oak, acid and alcohol, in addition to balanced flavors. In the winemaking process, there are several steps that allow us to achieve this equilibrium in their wines. Harvesting is one of the most critical steps. Their winemaker selects the harvest date and the picking decisions are based more on taste. Their winemaker prefers to pick on the earlier side, so the flavors of the fruit do not overpower the wine's flavor profile. They are also able to preserve the natural acids in the fruit by picking early and to create wines with lower alcohol. They source the fruit from 8-9 of the best premium vineyards, exclusively from the Livermore Valley, and since their first harvest in 2007, their winemaker has had strong working ties with these growers.
