Bishop is an especially popular park for people out with their dogs as they can run free on the hilltop trail before coming back down for some water at one of two dog watering stations within this tiny wonderland that’s so close to home but feels like another world entirely.

Must Haves When Hiking Bishop Ranch

• A map of the trails. The map is available online and can be downloaded for free, but it's also a good idea to have one with you on your hike just in case!

• Hiking shoes or boots that grip well so you don't slide down hills while hiking . This will make sure you're able to enjoy the many hills within Bishop Ranch Regional Preserve instead of risking injury.

• Bug spray: With over ten thousand acres there are bound to be bugs roaming around looking for food, which means they'll find yours too if they haven't already found their fill.
